Ronald McDonald Houses provide much more than a place to stay. They provide comfort, support, and resources for families with sick children just steps from the hospital. They are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal, or where they will lay their head at night to rest. I know first hand how special this place is because my family had to live here while my baby sister recovered from surgery.
The DC house has been serving families since 1980. They have 32 guest suites, a multipurpose family room; kitchen, dining room; laundry room; and a play room. Outdoor space includes a deck, courtyard, and playground. The newly renovated VA House just opened and has 24 guest suites, a multipurpose family room, kitchen, dining room, 2 laundry rooms, and a play room. The outdoor courtyard has a patio, playground, and picnic area. Both Houses are essential to our community and the children that depend on their services. Please consider sending some items of my wish list to keep their Pantry STUFFED this winter! I'll be dropping off next on Feb 17, 2022.
